Lauren & Nick | Dolomites Elopement
It was dark as we pulled up to Lauren & Nicks accommodation. There was a piercing chill in the air & some ice on the car. The drive to their ceremony spot was only 13 minutes and in those 13 minutes we drove through grassy green meadows, a drizzle of rain into a thick cloud of fog. And then, we broke through the fog into Narnia. Snow covered the ground, the trees and the mountains. Our jaws all dropped - completely just dumbfounded by the most surreal views that we were seeing. It was like Frozen & Narnia & Twilight combined.
As we walked to the banks of the lake, snow crunching beneath our feet we were hysterically laughing at the fact that these two Aussies came to Italy - Lauren with Sandals & Nick with almost no jumpers as never in their wildest dreams would it have snowed on their wedding day. Lauren laughed and said “this is what happens when two people from Australia & two people from Scotland meet in Italy”
A few days prior we headed up into the mountains on the sunniest day yet mistiest day and there Lauren & Nick wrote out their vows to one another and two days later they stood on the banks of the lake and exchanged them as snow fell, landing on the pages of their books.
Their day & their story was full of sentiment and one of the most beautiful moments of their day was when Lauren had planned with us to play a song that was so special to Nick as it was his late fathers song. So much emotion.
Truly will never have the words to even try to begin to express how honoured and grateful we are to have been asked to fly to the Italian dolomites to capture these two.
