Harriet & Ben | Glencoe Elopement Inspiration

As photographers we tend to do styled sessions every now and then to build our portfolio, try new things and to just take a moment to invest in ourselves and our craft as Photographers. The last styled session I did was back in November 2020 which is bonkers so I was well overdue planning and creating a styled Elopement day!

I think the thing that has put me off doing ‘styled’ Elopements is that they often feel very curated and lacking in authenticity and I knew I didn’t want this one to feel like that. I wanted the day to run exactly how an Elopement / Vow Renewal would. We started the day at Sunrise, Harriet and Ben arrived in their own wedding attire that they had worn for their own wedding a year and a bit ago. They wrote out their vows in notebooks whilst the sun was rising and then we ventured down to the water where they read their vows to one another, soaked up the views and had some portraits taken.

We then hopped in our cars and made our way down the road stopping off at lots of the beautiful spots Glencoe has to offer. We loved just getting to hang out with both Harriet & Ben and catch up with them (it has been years since we last saw them and Nathan used to go to school with Ben). We stopped for lunch at the Kingshouse hotel where Harriet & Ben changed into their normal clothes and then in the afternoon we ventured to a couple more beautiful spots to take some adventure session shots with them!

It was such a fun day exploring some new spots we’d love to work at in future, having a play around with some slow shutter shots and a practice with our drone (we’ve still not mastered the settings so won’t be adding drone shots to our packages just yet) and of course getting to capture a little of Harriet & Ben’s story!
